Albany Agriculture Education “A Place For You”
FFA makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.
-Strengthens agriculture students confidence in themselves and their work
-Builds character and promotes citizenship
-Develops competent and assertive agricultural leadership
-Increases awareness of technology in agriculture and contribution to our well-being
You DO NOT need to be a farmer to be in FFA. We focus on leadership development, personal growth, and career success! There are numerous activities you can participate in as a member of the Albany FFA, no matter what your interests are. You can compete in Career Development Events. Are you into animals? Horse evaluation, Dairy judging, and Veterinary Technology are some of the CDE’s that focus on animal care and production. Perhaps the outdoors is more your style? Forestry, Fish and Wildlife, or trapshooting covers that. If you are more geared for leadership development the FFA has Leadership Development Events that help you hone your skills. These range from Public Speaking to Parliamentary Procedure. The Albany FFA also promotes strong involvement in Supervised Agricultural Experience programs. You can receive recognition, monetary awards, and scholarships for owning or working in an Agricultural-related industry ranging from food processing, forestry, or farm production. The opportunities are only limited to your dedication and commitment! Talk to one of your advisors or chapter leaders for more information.
