Academics
Our mission, every day, is to cultivate and nurture the learners at Albany Area Schools, making them ready for life beyond school. Through a curriculum cycle focused on continuous improvement, students are given the opportunity to explore a constantly changing society and develop the skills to become engaged citizens and innovative thinkers.
Elementary Curriculum Overview
The elementary schools provide a solid core curriculum for students guided by the Minnesota Academic Standards. Core instruction in reading and math is the backbone of a student's academic day. Students attend physical education, art, SEL, music, and media classes taught by specialists throughout a five-day cycle. The staff works together to include additional enrichment opportunities for all students.
